Adventures: Newport RI + Baltimore MD

December 2011

We didn't take any trips for the holidays this year since we were saving up for something big.... but two of Ginger's good staff friends came to visit in Newport! Shyla works at Southern Connecticut State, and Amy works at University of Connecticut. We took Clementine for a walk on the beach!

and braved the hazards of the Cliff Walk.

and toured the Breakers mansion. In the evening, Stephen set up his old 8 mm projector to watch silent cartoons! He found the perfect songs to match the tape.

We made Christmas cookies with our friend Seth and Nicki (and their kids Gabriel and Liam), and had Christmas dinner with them after Nicki's solo in church!

We brought in the New Year with Tim and an expanded version of the Settlers of Catan.

InterVarsity Women's Conference - January 2012

New England women joined New York/New Jersey and Mid-Atlantic for a great conference in Baltimore, Maryland. Our special speaker was Mindy Caliguire, founder of Soul Care. She shared a lot of her personal testimony of overworking and trying to achieve with taking time to be fully present to God.

Meredith, Di, Ritu, and Liz practice the discipline of listening... on banana phones.

We enjoyed fancy dinners in the hotel- Kaitlin, Becky, and Kate

At the airport at the cutest little table: Ginger's supervisor Sarah (right) and her mother Hallie, who is New England's spiritual formation director.

We also got to enjoy a little Baltimore culture walking around downtown and eating at the Lexington Market, a huge indoor collection of little eateries, grocers, and shops.

Weekends had live music, and the city was not afraid to dance!

Spring New Student Outreach - January 2012

Ginger's students met several times in January to start planning a great semester. (Don't IV meetings look fun?) Tiffany, Lindsey & Mike in our office on campus.

We prepared a new Proxé Station to display on campus. Jeremy modeled for the Body-Heart-Soul Proxe. It engaged students with a topic many worry about- a wish a look different. The next panel goes deeper- would you like your heart to be different? Finally, we asked students how change was possible, and listened. If they were willing, we'd also share the gospel through an understanding of the heart's corruption but God's desire to give us new hearts.

I'm also working on new email prayer letters. You can subscribe here!
